The DVS video says you “ use it with iTunes as well, but I don’t see where you define an audio input device looking at the old iTunes or at the new Music app that has replaced iTunes. I did see a reference to Apple GarageBand being used as a DAW for DVS and I have the current version and old versions of this available. So that looks feasible to add to the MacBook Pro 2013, but lots of money if the only reason I purchased Logic Pro was to record these tracks! They illustrate working with Logic Pro X latest version 10.4.7 requires a minimum MacOS 10.13.6 or later. So I learned that DVS works in conjunction with a DAW to do the actual recording.

Dante virtual soundcard big sur update#
I can only update this laptop from the Apple App Store to the latest version 10.15.1 I believe but DVS doesn’t support the latest macOS versions.ĭo you know how I can update this laptop to 10.11.6 through 10.13.6? I have access to another laptop that has 4-Core.

If I used no more than 32 channels, would 2-Core likely function? If I used a maximum 16 channels, would that likely work given 4-Core is designed for up to 64 channels? Audinate recommendation for 7200 rpm begins with 16 channels. It also only has a 5400 rpm but I could attach a 7200 rpm external disk. This laptop has an Ethernet 1Gb and MacOS 10.11.6 El Capitan which is the oldest software supporting DVS, but it is only a 2-Core processor and the Audinate DVS site specifies a 4-Core processor. I’m very new to this and have a few questions regarding how I can do this with resources I have. I’d like to use Dante Virtual Soundboard (DVS) on a MacBook Pro to record each channel for mixing in post production DaVinci Resolve (not live). I have access to a prototype soundboard from a vendor which supports Dante AoIP gigabit Ethernet.
